Peacock Engraving Company is a sign and nameplate engraving company with extensive experience in commercial and industrial identification products.

Since 1977, Peacock has been actively involved in the chemical, petroleum and paper industries in South East Texas serving such companies as Noble Drilling, Mobil Oil, Dupont, Clark Refining, Texas Eastern Pipeline Production Company, Bechtel Corporation, Westvaco and more both directly and through their various contractors.

Its current owners, Laura and Chris Eldredge, acquired Peacock Engraving Company in January of 1997 after Chris completed a three month apprenticeship with the former owners of Peacock.

The Eldredge's added Peacock as a division to their business Post Mart which was a local UPS and Federal Express shipping agency. Post Mart, now sold, continues to offer a professional support staff and facility to insure that the businesses that depend on Peacock will have access to even more customer support and service. The marriage of Peacock and Post Mart had been very successful. The Eldredge's now devote their attentions to the engraving company.

Peacock actually began the 1920's as a jewelry store in downtown Beaumont, Texas. The owner offered a wide selection of engraved jewelry and silver hollowware. By the late 1960's, the jewelry store was gone but its engraving business had grown. At that time a couple purchased the old manual machines and continued serving Peacock's existing customers comprised mostly of individuals and small businesses. In 1977, Lynn and Pat Hardy bought the company and began expanding into the large industrial market of the South East Texas region. Pat's experience in the industrial electrical field brought to Peacock the demanding specifications and contacts needed to successfully compete with other engravers. In the late 1980's, the Hardys introduced computerized engraving equipment to their business and their capacity increased five-fold.

By the time the Eldredges' purchased Peacock in 1997, the company was known throughout the region for its ability to deliver exactly what the customer wanted when they wanted it. And, even though it was primarily an engraving business, its customers came to rely on Peacock to handle all of their sign and identification products needs - plastic, aluminum, stainless steel nameplates, pipe markers, control boards, switch plates, plastic and aluminum signage. Whatever the companies or contractors needed, Peacock would deliver!
